FREE & FUN things to do this Memorial Day weekend!

Hi everyone! We hope your long Memorial Day weekend is starting out great. Here are a few ideas of FREE and FUN things to do this 3-day weekend. Grab some friends, and take them along!

FREE admission from 10 to 12 p.m. today, Saturday, at The Brooklyn Botanic Garden. For directions and information go here.

FREE Memorial Day concert by the New York Philharmonic at 8 p.m. on Monday at The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine. Tickets will be handed out on a first come first serve basis on Monday. Check out their site for more information and directions to the cathedral.

FREE ship tours and performances for Fleet Week, all weekend long. Most of the events are on the West Side of Manhattan, at Pier 86 on 46 Street, while some are in Times Square, as well as in Staten Island. Events on the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum charge admission, but you can just grab some friends and walk around. Take a look at the schedule of events and choose which one you'd like to check out. (Note: Fleet means a group of naval ships.)

Also, Governor's Island is open for the summer. Ferries are FREE Friday to Sunday and on holiday Mondays, including this Memorial Day. Catch the ferry to the island at the terminal next to the Staten Island Ferry. For more information and directions, visit their site.

Finally, if you feel the need to be near the water (or in it) this three-day weekend, check out this list of beaches in NYC.

Have fun, everyone!
