Folk Art Museum
45 West 53rd St. , Manhattan 10019
Every Friday from 5:30 to 7:30pm, the American Folk Art Museum offers free live music in its atrium. This week, it's all about soothing singer-songwriters with Sergio Ortega, Debbie Miller and Emily Mure. Ortega is a Berklee grad who is a whiz not only on acoustic, electric and bass guitars but also on banjo and mandolin. Miller is a classically trained pianist and self-taught guitarist who just released her endearing and offbeat debut album, Fake Love. Mure seamlessly blends her background in classical music together with modern folk and indie style. Guests are welcome to sit and enjoy the performances or wander through the galleries to see the exhibitions.
