1) Astoria walking tour!
 
Socrates Sculpture Park, kayaking in Hallet’s Cove, Bohemian Hall Beer Garden.  
 
Date: Sunday May 23rd
(rain date Sunday May 30th)
Time: 12pm
Where: Meet ADRIANNE at the N train Broadway stop in Astoria, Queens at 12pm and we will walk from there to Socrates Sculpture Park
 
§  Socrates Sculpture Park:  an exhibition space for artists and a neighborhood park for local residents that offers free kayaking in Hallets Cove.
 
§  After seeing the park and kayaking, we’ll walk through Astoria (Little Egypt, Greek and Cypriot areas, other main shopping areas, and Astoria Park) 
 
§  We’ll end up at Bohemian Hall, a gigantic, century-old Czech beer garden. Bohemian Hall is all ages, but bring ID if you want to order beer.
 
*This trip includes a good amount of walking so wear comfortable shoes.*
 
 
 
2)  Latin Gourmet Festival!  Volunteers needed.
 

§  Opportunity to volunteer at New York City's very first Latin Gourmet Festival - Gourmet Latino, a Journey of Latin Flavor -  which will take place June 4 - 6th in Manhattan! 

§  All volunteers get free entrance to the festival and access
to seminars led by some of NYC's most influential latin
chefs.
                       
§  Get a behind-the-scenes view of a world class cultural
festival while also supporting a great cause!

3)  Apply for 2011 Ford Motor Company International Fellowship: DEADLINE 6/30/2010

§ The 2011 Ford Motor Company International Fellowship of the
92nd Street Y is now accepting applications from community
leaders who are citizens and residents of Brazil, India,
Indonesia, Israel, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venezuela.
 
§ Applications must be postmarked, faxed, or emailed by June
30, 2010 to be considered.
