1) FOOD! Cultural Cuisine

Join One To World and other international students and scholars to discover Ukrainian Cuisine in the heart of the East Village!

Date: Wednesday, May 19th, 2010
Time:  7:00pm
Location: 140 2nd Avenue, New York, NY, 10003 (Between E 9th Street and St. Marks Pl)

2) Astoria walking tour!
 
Socrates Sculpture Park, kayaking in Hallet’s Cove, Bohemian Hall Beer Garden.
 
Date: Sunday May 23rd
(rain date Sunday May 30th)
Time: 12pm
Where: Meet at the N train Broadway stop in Astoria, Queens at 12pm and walk from there to Socrates Sculpture Park
 
§        Socrates Sculpture Park:  an exhibition space for artists and a neighborhood park for local residents that offers free kayaking in Hallets Cove.
 
§        After seeing the park and kayaking, we’ll walk through Astoria (Little Egypt, Greek and Cypriot areas, other main shopping areas, and Astoria Park) 
 
§        We’ll end up at Bohemian Hall, a gigantic, century-old Czech beer garden. Bohemian Hall is all ages, but bring ID if you want to order beer.
 
*This trip includes a good amount of walking so wear comfortable shoes.*
