Harper's Bazaar: A Decade of Style Exhibit

From TimeOut New York: Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Glenda Bailey gets a mini-retrospective with this show, which features 30 images taken for the magazine since her tenure began in 2001. The chosen shots illustrate how the publication merges fashion, pop culture and high design, such as a photo of a leather-clad Naomi Campbell sitting atop an alligator. Others, like a Warholesque portrait of the model Stephanie Seymour, reveal how fine art inspires the magazine’s spreads.
Francesca Granata says… “Photography is one field where fashion and art collide most obviously. It’s also interesting how some of the same characters, like Lady Gaga [and] Daphne Guinness, appear in this exhibition.”
See it now! International Center of Photography, 1133 Sixth Ave at 43rd St (212-857-0000, icp.org). Tue–Thu, Sat, Sun 10am–6pm; Fri 10am–8pm. $12, seniors and students $8, children under 12 and members free. Through Jan 8.

Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show

Is your personal style inspired by the rock n' rollers & hippies of the 1970's? Check out the1970's Fashion Exhibit, this Friday!

From Time Out NY:
Friday 29
Get style inspiration at a 1970s fashion exhibit, then shop for disco-decade threads at the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show. Drop our name at the door for discounted entry.
The '80s novel Slow Fade by Rudolph Wurlitzer, resurrected by indie rock label Drag City in the form of an audio book, is narrated by dark indie prince Will Oldham and movie writer, producer and actor D.V. DeVincentis. The pair give a live reading at Spoonbill & Sugartown featuring musical accompaniment from Ben Chasny of Six Organs of Admittance.
Long-running '80s-music party 1984 (which lasted almost twice as long as the decade it celebrated!) sadly ends for good this week. Come out and dance to "Don't You Want Me" one last time.
The Dances of Vice soiree enters the snake pit for its next edition, the Viper's Dream affair, with Nikki le Villain and the Flying Fox among the night's alluring attractions.
